Jane Austen was an English novelist. She was born in Steventon, Hampshire on December 16th, 1775. Furthermore, she is best known for her novels Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, and Emma. Additionally, the subjects of her writings often explore the dependence of women on marriage in the pursuit of favorable social standing and economic security. Jane had six brothers and one sister. Additionally, she and her sister Cassandra were extremely close all throughout their lives. Austen has inspired a large number of critical essays and literary anthologies, as well as movies. She passed away on July 18th, 1814. The cause of her illness has been up for debate. Furthermore, some believe it to have been Addison’s disease. Others believed it to have been Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
